Excerpt from The Unicorn Dialogues

Charlotte: Some people on earth seem to have seen your race quite clearly, since they have described you and depicted you in writing or art. How is this possible?

Samha: The human race can see other worlds and spirit beings, but often you do not know that you see. Sometimes, you only sense our presence. Artists are more open, for they do not as readily reject what they see and sense. That is why there are so many images of unicorns in art.

C: The images differ widely. Some unicorns look like horses, others are smaller, more like goats.

S: Artists who have sensed or seen us, then use their imaginations to give us form. They relate us to what they know, such as horses. Unicorns are not horses but perhaps the closest animal the artist could conceive of.

C: What of the tapestries, the unicorn tapestries in Paris and in New York? Are you well represented there?

S: Those were woven by people who sensed us deeply.

C: Though you are spirit beings, you have a definite appearance and form.

S: We have our forms just as you do.

C: How might we summon you or one of your race for healing?

S: Ask for our help. We will come.

C: For any illness?

S: For any. For solace, too.

C: Do you mean that you offer not just physical healing but mental healing, too?

S: We bring peace and gladness.
